New Spurs boss Thomas Frank has confirmed that Argentina defender Cristian Romero will remain at the club, while praising the player’s commitment.

Romero has been linked with a number of European clubs, including Atletico Madrid, but no formal offers have been confirmed.

“He’s here now, that’s what I care about. As long as the players are with the team, I’ll train and play with them,” Frank said.
“He is definitely with us and has a lot of determination. I know he is looking forward to the new season with bated breath.”
Cristian Romero has won trophies at the highest level, winning the Copa America and the FIFA World Cup. Frank will be hoping to get the Argentine defender 100% for the coming season, and he will feel like a new signing.
The former Brentford boss also spoke about his former protégé, Bryan Mbeumo, who is moving to Manchester United, saying: “Bryan Mbeumo is an incredible player. He deserves to move, no matter where he goes.”
