I think enough time had passed and I realised pretty quickly it was time.
“I didn’t miss playing that much and I was enjoying the other side of it, whether it was working with the media or spending a bit more time with my family. My son is at an age where I feel it is the right time to retire, to rethink his career and I am really pleased with how it has turned out,”
Albrighton came through the Aston Villa academy and made 101 appearances before joining Leicester in 2014.
Since then he has been a key member of the Foxes’ surprise Premier League title triumph in 2015-16.
He made 313 appearances for Leicester, scoring 19 goals, as well as winning the FA Cup and Championship with the clubs.
