Digital Media Zone

Ryerson University’s Digital Media Zone (DMZ) is a workplace designed for young entrepreneurs, infused with the energy and resources of downtown Toronto. It’s a place where students and alumni come to innovate, collaborate and market their products and services, and where commercial enterprises can turn to for progressive and creative digital solutions. Kela Medical Inc. has been selected as one of the few companies to participate in the DMZ.

Kela Medical Inc. have collaborated with Professor Dimitrios Hatzinakos (Electrical and Computer Engineering), and his team on projects concerning security.


The Identity, Privacy and Security Institute (IPSI) at the University of Toronto is dedicated to developing new approaches to security that maintain the privacy, freedom and safety of the individual and the broader community. Kela Medical Inc has engaged IPSI to ensure that our pHR Card remains a leader in personal heath record privacy and security.



The Greater Toronto Area Community Cardiovascular specialists organization was established in November 1995, and now represents the majority of community cardiologists across the GTA. Kela Medical is collaborating with GTACC to ensure cardiologist can benefit from the use of electronic medical records.

Whitby Cardiovascular

Kela Medical Inc. and Whitby Cardiovascular have created a partnership to advance Medical Records IT. Whitby Cardiovascular provides Kela Medical with a live site for conducting pilot projects and product researchas well as demonstrate all available systems at this location. Kela Medical and Whitby Cardiovascular are co-located at 3020 Brock St. North, in Whitby, Ontario.

Kela Medical Inc. launched the Emergency Protection Card through Zoomer Media, to target Canadians most concerned with heart and stroke risks. Kela Medical is promoting the card through articles and advertising on and other web sites owned by Zoomer Media Ltd. “We’re excited to be part of this important product launch,” says David Cravit, Vice President of Zoomer Media and head of The Zoomer Agency, which developed the campaign. “Here is an innovation that can have an immediate and positive impact, and we know it will appeal to the audience we deliver. It’s also an example of Zoomers taking charge of their own health. You can have this vital information your wallet today, without having to wait for the government to solve the entire e-health issue.”


Kela Medical Inc. attended the 2010 Toronto Zoomer Show as a guest of CARP. The Emergency Protection Cards were given away to existing and new CARP members.
